Effective Date: 1st June 2023. Last updated: 22nd July 2025.

Natural Resources Investor (ACN 668 196 174) (referred to in this document as “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how your information is collected, used, and protected by Natural Resources Investor. It also explains the choices you have regarding your personal information. By using this website, you (the user) agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy as well as our Terms of Use.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If any significant changes are made, we will notify you by updating the policy on this page and, if we have your email address, by sending you an email notification. We encourage you to check this page regularly for any updates.

1. How This Privacy Policy is Updated

We reserve the right to modify or update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon posting on this website. If we make material changes, we will notify you here on this page and/or via the email address you have provided to us. By continuing to use the website after any changes are posted, you accept those modifications. For this reason, please review this Privacy Policy frequently to stay informed of any updates.

2. Who Is Prohibited from Using This Website

  • Minors: Our website is not intended for use by children or minors. You are prohibited from using this website if you are under 18 years of age (or under the age of legal adulthood in your country, if higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If you are not old enough to consent to the collection of your personal information under your local laws, do not use this site or provide us with your details.

  • Users in Restricted Jurisdictions: If your country of residence has laws or regulations that conflict with our Privacy Policy or Terms of Use, you are not permitted to use our website. It is your responsibility to ensure that your use of our site complies with all applicable local laws. By using our site, you represent that you are not violating any laws or regulations of your jurisdiction.

3. Signing Up and Sharing Information with Us

When you sign up to our distribution list or otherwise contact us, we will ask you to provide certain personal information so that we can communicate with you effectively:

  • Contact Details: You will be asked to provide information such as your name, email address, and phone number. We use these details to communicate with you. For example, we may use your email to send newsletters or updates, and we may use your phone number to send SMS messages or to call you with important information. We may also use the contact details you provide to verify your identity or email address (for example, to authenticate and prevent spam or fraudulent sign-ups).

  • Communication Content: If you email us or send a message through our contact form, we will collect and store the content of your message along with your email address and any other contact information you provide. This is necessary so that we can respond to your inquiries or requests.

  • Data Sensitivity: Please think carefully about the sensitivity of any information you choose to share with us. We do not require any sensitive personal details for a basic sign-up (only general contact information and a status declaration, if applicable). We recommend you not send highly sensitive information through our website or email unless absolutely necessary.

Unsubscribing: If at any time you decide you no longer want to receive communications from us, you can unsubscribe or opt out easily. Every email we send will include an “unsubscribe” link at the bottom. You may click that link to stop receiving further emails from us. Alternatively, you can contact us directly (using the contact details in Section 13 below) and request to be removed from our distribution list. Once you unsubscribe, we will remove your contact information from our active database and stop sending you further communications. (In the unlikely event we are unable to remove your information for some technical reason, we will let you know.)

4. What Data We May Collect from You

By using the Natural Resources Investor website and services, we may collect certain information about you. This includes:

  • Information You Provide Directly: When you sign up or communicate with us, you provide personal details such as your name, email address, phone number, and any other information you choose to share (for example, your company or investor status). We collect and store this information as needed to provide our services and communicate with you.

  • Usage and Technical Data: We automatically collect certain information when you visit our site. This can include your IP address, approximate geolocation (location information based on your IP or device settings), browser type and version, operating system, device information, and details about how you use our site. For instance, we record which pages you visit, the dates/times of your visits, and how long you spend on each page. This data helps us understand user engagement and improve our website’s performance and content.

  • Cookies and Tracking Data: As described in Section 6 below, we use cookies and similar technologies that may collect information about your browsing behavior on our site (such as pages viewed, links clicked, and other actions).

  • Communications Data: If you correspond with us (by email, through a form on our site, or by phone), we will collect the content of your communication and any metadata (such as the date and time of contact). This may also include keeping records of any consents or permissions you give us in the course of communications (for example, if you verbally consent to something over a call, we may note that in an email or record for compliance purposes).

  • Additional Information for Specialized Services: In general, we do not collect sensitive personal information on our website. However, if you engage in certain advanced or regulated activities with us, we may need to collect additional details. For example, if you are participating in an investment opportunity that requires verification of your investor status, we might request evidence such as a wholesale investor certificate (a document, typically from a qualified accountant, confirming you meet certain financial criteria) or a form of identification to confirm your identity. We will only ask for such information if it is necessary (for instance, to comply with legal requirements or to provide you with a specific service) and we will handle it with appropriate care and security. Providing this kind of sensitive information is completely optional and will only be required in contexts where it’s absolutely needed (if you choose not to provide it, certain services or opportunities may not be available, but basic use of the website will not require it).

5. What We Do With the Information You Share

We use the personal information you share with us to operate and improve our services, and to communicate with you. Specifically, your information may be used in the following ways:

  • Providing Website Content and Services: We may use your information to personalize and deliver content on our website that is relevant to you. For example, knowing what topics you’re interested in can help us highlight relevant natural resources sector news or company information on our site.

  • Sending Updates and Communications: We will use your contact information (email address and/or phone number) to send you the content you have signed up for. This includes sending you notes, newsletters, articles, or updates about natural resource companies and the natural resources sector. We might also send promotional materials or offers related to our services or third-party services that we believe could be of interest to you (for example, announcements from partner organizations or sponsors in the natural resources industry).

  • Direct Contact: From time to time, we may reach out to you directly. This could be via email, SMS, or phone call. For instance, if you are a subscriber, we might call to inform you about a new investment note or to follow up on an event or inquiry you expressed interest in. We will only call you for legitimate purposes related to our services, and you can always let us know if you prefer not to receive phone calls.

  • Advertising and Sponsored Content: We may include relevant third-party advertisements or sponsored messages in the communications we send you or on our website. Your information might be used to ensure that these messages are relevant (for example, we might send you sponsored content from a company in the natural resources sector that aligns with your interests). However, note that we do not share your personal information with those advertisers without your consent, as detailed in Section 7.

  • Improving Our Services: We may use aggregated usage information (as described in Section 9) and feedback you provide to understand how users interact with our site and emails. This helps us improve our content, design, and user experience. For example, knowing which articles are most popular or which emails had the best engagement can guide us in creating more of the content our users enjoy.

We will not use your personal information for purposes outside of those you have consented to or that are disclosed in this Privacy Policy, unless required by law or with prior notice to you.

6. How We Use Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or device when you visit a website. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies on Natural Resources Investor to enhance your user experience and gather information about how our site is used.

  • Functionality: Some cookies are necessary for the basic functioning of the site, such as keeping you logged in (if the site has login features) or remembering your preferences (like language or region settings).

  • Analytics: We use cookies to collect data on how visitors navigate and utilize our website. In particular, we use Google Analytics (a web analytics service provided by Google) to create reports and analysis about our site traffic and user interactions. Google Analytics cookies help us understand things like which pages are most frequently visited, how long users stay on each page, and how users found our site. This information is aggregated and does not identify you personally; it helps us improve the website’s structure and content.

  • Behavior Monitoring: Cookies also allow us to monitor user behavior on the site over time. For instance, cookies can help recognize you as a returning visitor so we can, for example, avoid showing you the same popup twice or remember that you’ve already seen certain content.

Third-Party Cookies: Some cookies on our site may be set by third parties. For example, if we have embedded content or widgets (like a video player, social media share button, or a third-party advertisement), those third parties might set their own cookies. Google Analytics is one such third-party cookie provider. These third-party services may use cookies in accordance with their own privacy policies. (See Section 7 for more about third-party services on our site.)

Cookie Consent: By using our site, you consent to the placement of cookies on your device as described in this Policy. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Most web browsers allow you to block or delete cookies, but please note that if you disable cookies, some features of our site may not function properly.

For more details on how Google collects and processes data (including information collected through Google Analytics cookies), you can review Google’s Privacy Policysupport.google.com. This link provides information on Google’s approach to privacy and data handling. If you wish, Google also provides an opt-out tool for Google Analytics which you can install in your browser to prevent data collection by Google Analytics on any site.

7. How Your Information Is Shared with Third Parties

We understand the importance of your personal information and only share it with third parties in limited circumstances, as outlined below:

  • Third-Party Service Providers: We use reputable third-party companies to help us operate and improve our website and services. This includes services for website hosting, data storage, email distribution, analytics, customer relationship management, and other support functions. For example, our site is currently hosted on the Wix.com platform, which provides us with the online platform and data storage we needsupport.wix.com. We may also use other services like HubSpot as our business grows (for managing contacts and communications). These service providers may store or process your data on secure servers (which could be located in Australia or in other countries, such as the United States or elsewhere). They are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us (for instance, Wix.com stores our site data on its databases and servers, protected by firewallssupport.wix.com). We take steps to ensure that our service providers are bound to protect your data and keep it confidential.

  • No Selling of Personal Data & Sharing Only with Consent: We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing or other independent use. We will also not share or disclose your personal details to any third party outside of our service providers unless: (a) we have your explicit consent to do so, or (b) we are required by law (see Section 8 for legal compliance). For example, if you ask us to introduce you to a third-party broker or partner in the industry, or otherwise consent to us sharing your details, only then will we pass on your contact information to that specific third party. In such cases, we will typically confirm your permission (e.g., via email or recorded verbal consent) before sharing your information. Aside from these scenarios, your personal data remains with us and our trusted processors — it is not given out for others to use.

  • Third-Party Applications or Widgets: Our website might include third-party applications, plugins, or widgets (for instance, a social media share button, a video player, or interactive content provided by an outside company). If you choose to interact with these features, the third parties that provide them may collect certain information about you (such as your IP address or any details you submit within those widgets) in order to function. Please note: If you use these third-party features, any information collected will be subject to the third party’s own privacy policy, not this Privacy Policy. We do not control the data practices of these external providers. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any third-party application or service you engage with on our site.

  • Links to Other Websites and Social Media: Our website or communications may contain links to external websites or social media pages (for example, a link to a news article or a LinkedIn/Twitter share link). If you follow a link to any external site, understand that those sites have their own privacy policies, and we do not accept any responsibility or liability for their content or practices. Similarly, if you discover our content through a social network or connect with us via social media, be aware that any information collected by those platforms is governed by their policies. For instance, if you use a social media “share” feature on our site, that social network may set a cookie and record that action under its own terms.

In summary, aside from necessary service providers and exceptional cases (with your consent or legal obligations), we do not share your personal information with third parties. Your trust is important to us, and we strive to keep your data within our controlled environment.

8. Special Circumstances Where We May Use or Disclose Your Personal Information

We aim to respect your privacy; however, there are certain special circumstances in which we might access, preserve, or disclose your personal information:

  • Legal Compliance and Law Enforcement: If we receive a lawful request, subpoena, court order, or other legal demand (for example, from a government agency, regulatory body, or law enforcement authority), we may be required to disclose certain personal information in order to comply with those laws or regulations. We will assess any request carefully and only provide information to the extent we determine is required by law.

  • Protection of Rights and Safety: We reserve the right to retain or disclose your information if we believe it’s reasonably necessary to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues. Additionally, if we suspect that someone may be engaging in unlawful activities, or if your information is needed in relation to an investigation of a crime or potential threat, we may preserve and share relevant data with the appropriate authorities. For example, if we believe that deleting or restricting your data (as you may request in Section 10) would violate a lawful instruction or impede an ongoing investigation (such as a fraud investigation), we may deny that specific deletion/restriction request.

  • Enforcing Our Policies and Agreements: We may use or disclose data as needed to enforce our Terms of Use or other agreements, or to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, and/or that of you or others.

In all such cases, we will only disclose the information that is necessary and will do so in accordance with applicable laws. We also will document any such disclosures as required by law.

9. Non-Personal and Aggregated Information

Not all information we collect is personally identifiable. We may aggregate or anonymize personal data to the point that it no longer identifies any individual. This aggregated data is not considered personal information and may be used freely, since it cannot be linked back to any specific user.

For example, we might compile statistics about our website usage such as: “1000 people visited our homepage this month” or “50% of our subscribers opened the last newsletter.” This information, stripped of personal identifiers, helps us understand trends and user behavior in general. We may use aggregated data to improve our services, share insights about user engagement (such as publishing trends or total user counts), or for other business purposes.

When we aggregate data, we do not include any personal details like names or emails in those aggregations. Any insights drawn from aggregated information are general in nature. If we share aggregated statistics or reports publicly or with third parties, it will not contain personal information about any individual user.

10. Requesting Access to Your Personal Information; Requesting Deletion or Correction

We respect your rights to know about and control your personal information. You have the following options regarding the personal data we hold about you:

  • Access – “What Information Do You Have About Me?” You may contact us at any time to ask whether we are processing any personal information about you, and to request a copy of that information. We will need to verify your identity before fulfilling such requests (to ensure we don’t send your data to the wrong person). Once we have what we need, we will provide you with the information we have on record about you, in a reasonable time frame and in accordance with applicable law.

  • Deletion – “Remove My Information.” You may ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you. For example, if you previously signed up and you no longer want us to have your name or email on file, you can request that we erase it. We will process such requests and, assuming we have no legal obligation or other valid reason to keep the data (see Section 8 above for exceptions), we will delete your information from our active databases. Keep in mind that removal from backups or caches might take additional time, but we will cease using your data after deletion.

  • Correction/Update – “Fix This Detail.” If the information we have about you is incorrect or outdated, you have the right to request a correction. For instance, if you change your email address or realize we misspelled your name, let us know and we will update our records. We strive to keep data accurate and will promptly make corrections when brought to our attention.

To make any of these requests (access, deletion, correction), please contact us using the information provided in Section 13 (Contact Us). We will respond to your request as soon as reasonably possible, and at most within any timeframe required by law. Please note that these rights may be subject to certain exceptions; for example, if fulfilling your request would reveal personal information about another person, or if we need to retain certain data for legal compliance, we might not be able to fully comply, but we will explain the situation to you if that occurs.

Important: If you request deletion or alteration of your data, this will not undo any processing that has already occurred up to that point. For example, if we sent you a newsletter last week and you ask this week to delete your data, we can remove you from our mailing list going forward, but we cannot “unsend” the newsletter that was already sent. After we fulfill your deletion request, you will not receive further communications from us. In the unlikely event we cannot fulfill a particular request, we will provide you with an explanation.

11. Requesting Limited Use of Your Personal Information

When you provide us with your personal information (such as an email address or phone number), we use it to send you content and updates that we believe will be useful or interesting to you – this may include informational articles, market updates, promotions, advertisements, and other relevant communications. We understand that you might, at some point, prefer to limit how we use your information, especially for promotional purposes.

If you no longer wish to receive certain types of communications from us or want to limit the ways in which we use your data, the simplest and most immediate step is to unsubscribe from our communications (as described in Section 3) or to contact us and withdraw your consent for those uses. For example, if you initially agreed to receive marketing emails but later change your mind, you can click the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email, and we will stop sending them. If you don’t want to be called for updates, you can let us know that as well.

By unsubscribing or opting out, you essentially remove your information from our active database for those purposes, which limits our use of your information moving forward. We will not contact you for marketing or informational purposes once you have withdrawn consent. (However, we might still contact you for administrative reasons if necessary, such as to fulfill a legal obligation or if you have an ongoing transaction or relationship with us that requires communication.)

In summary, if you are not satisfied with any use of your personal information, you have the right to tell us. We prefer to resolve such concerns by simply honoring your choice to opt out. There is no penalty or cost for unsubscribing or asking us to stop certain uses of your data – our relationship with you is voluntary, and we want you to feel comfortable with how your data is used. If you have any specific limitations or preferences regarding your data usage, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

(Note: If you do withdraw consent for certain uses of your data, this will not affect the legality of any use that occurred prior to your withdrawal. It will only prevent future use.)

12. How We Store and Secure the Information We Collect

Your personal information is stored and processed using third-party service providers that specialize in data storage and security. We currently utilize platforms such as Wix (for website hosting and databases) and may in the future utilize HubSpot or similar reputable providers for customer data management. These providers maintain servers and databases that store your data securely, often employing measures like encryption, firewalls, and access controls to protect your informationsupport.wix.com. Data you provide through our website may be stored in cloud-based systems. This could mean your data is transferred to or stored on servers located in other countries (for example, the United States or other jurisdictions where our providers operate data centers). Regardless of where the data is stored, we take steps to ensure that your information remains protected and that any service providers we use handle your data in compliance with applicable privacy standards.

Security Measures: We have implemented reasonable and appropriate security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. This includes technical measures (such as secure socket layer (SSL) technology to encrypt data in transit, firewalls, and regular security monitoring) and organizational measures (such as limiting access to personal data only to employees or contractors who need it to perform their duties, and training our staff on data protection). Our third-party hosting platforms also provide their own security and compliance certifications to help safeguard data.

No Absolute Guarantee: Please be aware that, while we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Despite all of our efforts and those of our service providers, there is always some risk that unauthorized parties could find a way to defeat security measures or misuse data. We cannot and do not guarantee absolute security of your information. In the event of a security breach, we will follow applicable laws and regulations to inform affected users and take necessary steps to mitigate the issue.

By using our website, you acknowledge and accept that there are inherent risks in transmitting data over the internet and that we cannot warrant the security of any information you transmit to us. If you have any questions about security, you can contact us for more information (see Section 13).
